The Three Types of Skeletal Muscle Fibre – Level 3

Level 2 looks at the basics regarding the three types of skeletal muscle fibre (and if you need a recap then you can get one here), with Level 3 then building on that and studying them in more detail.

The things it now examines include the different types of fuel each one uses, the different contraction speeds and the other names by which each fibre type is known. It also looks at how you can make use of this information when assisting a client with particular goals such as fat loss or hypertrophy, as well as how you can choose particular exercises to target these goals.

So, like we did at Level 2, we’ve put together a table that summarises the key points regarding the three types of skeletal muscle fibre, but which this time includes the new information that’s introduced at Level 3:
